Winter Nourish + Reset Day Retreat
A restorative winter day to pause, reflect, and begin the year from steadiness
The Invitation
Before the year takes off, we gather for one spacious winter day — a day to slow the pace, breathe more deeply, think more clearly and reconnect with what truly matters to us.
If you tend to begin the year already feeling behind, mentally full, or unsure what you really want, this day is for you.
Instead of pushing forward with more plans, you’re invited to slow down and reset from the inside out.
This day is held in a warm, down-to-earth way — thoughtful but not heavy, reflective without being intense.
Start Your Year with Calm is a restorative retreat inspired by Yoga Sutra 2.16 —
“Heyam duḥkham anāgatam — future suffering can be avoided.”
In everyday language, you are in the driver’s seat of your own life.
This isn’t about becoming a better version of yourself.
It’s about starting the year from steadiness rather than urgency.
A chance to reflect, release what you no longer want to carry, and set a Sankalpa (intention) from a place of steadiness rather than pressure.
Think of it as the deluxe version of our traditional Sankalpa session — weaving together grounding movement, deep rest, nourishing food, reflection, and practical mindset tools drawn from the Yoga Sutras and Ayurveda.
What You’ll Experience
Arriving in the body
A slow, supported yoga practice designed to calm the nervous system and gently return you to the natural rhythm of your breath.
Reflecting on the Year Passed
A guided space to look back gently but honestly:
• What worked?
• What didn’t?
• What needs to be set down so you can begin again with clarity?
Philosophy in Practice — The Mind as Google
A practical talk and reflection rooted in Patañjali’s Yoga Sutras 2.16 and 2.33.
You’ll explore how thoughts shape your inner landscape — and how to shift direction with awareness and compassion.
Being Cared for with a Nourishing Ayurvedic Lunch
A warm, grounding winter meal (kitchadi or mung dal), herbal teas, and simple comfort food to support digestion, immunity, and emotional balance.
Guided Reflection & Sankalpa Setting
The day is held in a small, intentional group. Enough to feel accompanied, not so many that you disappear.
Your Sankalpa is for you. There’s no requirement to share it with the group — and if you’d like support with wording, I’m there to help you individually.
Closing Restorative Yoga
A deeply restful practice to let everything settle.
Your Sankalpa becomes something you feel — not just something you write.
You’ll Leave With
• A renewed sense of calm and direction for the year ahead
• Your personal Sankalpa — written, embodied, and clear
• A printed reflection booklet with journaling prompts and key sutras
• A lighter, more peaceful state of mind
You don’t need a long retreat to reset. One well-held day can gently shift how you meet the weeks ahead.
Who It’s For
This retreat is for you if you:
• Feel caught in “go mode” and want a gentle but powerful reset
• Want to begin the year feeling nourished rather than depleted
• Enjoy combining yoga, reflection, and mindset tools
• Are curious how yoga philosophy can support real, sustainable calm
You don’t need to be “good at yoga,” know the sutras, or have everything figured out.
No prior yoga experience is needed — just curiosity, warmth, and a willingness to slow down.
Many people come feeling “mostly okay” simply aware they’ve been running on autopilot and want to begin the year with more intention.
Most people come alone and leave feeling quietly connected.
