Sacred Pause Conversations: Why Pausing Matters
🎙️Show Notes
Summary
What happens when we create enough space to pause?
In this first Sacred Pause Conversation, Helen and I talk about why pauses feel increasingly important in lives filled with constant input, activity and demands on our attention.
We explore the meaning of the solstice as a natural turning point, the difference our environment can make, and simple ways to create small pauses in everyday life through breathing, awareness and time in nature.
We also talk about why stepping away on retreat can give us a different perspective on our everyday lives, and share some of the thinking behind Sacred Pause, our four-day retreat in the Lake District in June 2027.
This is the first in a series of monthly conversations with Helen and me as we explore the ideas, practices and experiences behind Sacred Pause.

Changing our environment can help us step outside our usual patterns.
A retreat creates more sustained space to reflect, reconnect and see everyday life from a different perspective.
