Restoring Digestive Rhythm — 1:1
Restoring Digestive Rhythm is a personalised eight-week programme that helps you stop guessing what to eat and start understanding what your body needs.
When digestion isn’t working, it affects everything.
You might recognise some of this:
Eating healthy food but still feeling bloated.
Suffering from constipation.
Losing your appetite.
Feeling uncomfortable in your body all the time and struggling to focus.
Gaining weight despite eating very little — or losing weight despite eating regularly.
Feeling frustrated because you've tried all the diets, detoxes, and leaving out food groups, but nothing seems to work.
Digestive issues rarely change through information alone.
They shift when daily habits change.
And habits need time, observation, and support.
“I just kept returning back to the plan.”
My approach begins with food and lifestyle.
We then observe how your body responds and refine as we go.
Ayurvedic herbs are used only if needed, once the foundations are in place.
This is why this work happens over eight weeks, with ongoing support and accountability.
It allows for real change — without wasted time or unnecessary steps.
What if
You could feel lighter in your body and steadier in your energy — able to enjoy your work and time with your family again.
You feel nourished by your food because your body digests and absorbs what you eat, and things begin to flow more easily.
“I feel lighter on my feet.”
You take time to sit down and enjoy eating, knowing your body has the strength to digest what you give it.
Your skin looks clearer, your immunity feels stronger, and you move through the year with more resilience.
You can focus more easily. Your mind feels clearer and more present, without the constant mental fog or forgetfulness.
Your days have a gentle structure. You know what supports you and when, without second-guessing or self-doubt.
“I’m just really honouring and following my own rhythm.”
Your digestion feels settled. Your appetite is steady.
How would that make you feel?
Why this approach is different
Most people come to me because something doesn't feel right.
Their digestion has changed.
Their energy feels unpredictable.
Their hormonal rhythm has changed.
Their eating habits no longer feel supportive.
Those symptoms are important.
They tell us that something needs attention.
Together, we'll look beyond the symptoms to understand what is creating them. Once the pattern becomes clear, the next steps become clearer too.
That's why this work isn't about following another meal plan or adding a handful of supplements. It's about understanding your body well enough to make choices that continue to support you long after we've finished working together.
Is this the right next step for you?
There are different ways to improve digestion.
You can start with general guidance — learning what supports your body, and making changes on your own.
And sometimes, that’s enough.
But if you’ve already tried that, and things haven’t really shifted — or don’t stay consistent — then more information isn’t usually what’s needed.
What makes the difference is applying it to your life, with support.
This is usually the point where I start working with clients one-to-one.
This kind of change is possible — when it’s supported over time.
“It feels really sustainable.”
Restoring Digestive Rhythm is an eight-week, one-to-one programme that helps you stop guessing what to eat and start understanding what your body needs.
Rather than focusing on restriction or quick fixes, we'll work with food, daily rhythm and lifestyle, guided by Ayurveda, to give your body the conditions it needs to function well again.
In Yoga and Ayurveda, digestion is seen as the foundation of health. When it's supported, the whole body benefits—energy improves, the mind becomes clearer, and the whole system begins to settle.
Together, we'll use these principles in a way that fits your life—not as theory, but as practical, everyday changes that give your body time to respond.
Hi, I am Katja
I founded Zest for Yoga in 2000. I’m a Yoga teacher and Ayurvedic diet and lifestyle consultant, and I work with busy women who want to feel steadier, healthier, and more at home in their bodies — without overhauling their lives.
I know this work from the inside out.
Over twenty-five years ago, I was dealing with ulcerative colitis and persistent digestive issues. My teacher, Shriguruji Balaji, introduced me to a simple, structured approach rooted in Yoga and Ayurveda — one that focused on daily rhythm, food, and small, consistent changes.
Nothing extreme.
No quick fixes.
Adjustments like drinking warm water, changing mealtimes, and supporting digestion through routine gradually shifted my health. Those changes stayed — and they shaped how I work with others today.
This is the approach I’ve been sharing ever since.
Here's what we'll work on together
Together we'll build a way of eating and living that works with your body, rather than against it.
Along the way we'll:
Understand your unique digestive patterns and why your symptoms keep returning.
Create simple daily rhythms that support better digestion without turning your life upside down.
Discover which foods help your digestion feel steadier—and which may be keeping it stuck.
Build a small collection of nourishing meals and Ayurvedic practices you can rely on.
Use yoga, breathing and relaxation to reduce the stress that so often shows up in digestion.
Stay in touch throughout the programme with WhatsApp and voice notes, so you're supported as questions come up and new habits become part of everyday life.
Changes are introduced gradually, giving your body time to respond before we make the next adjustment.
"I just kept returning back to the plan."
How we'll work together
This isn't about following a generic plan.
It's about understanding what your body is asking for and creating habits that genuinely support it.
Over eight weeks, we'll move through a simple process.
Week 1: Understand the pattern
We begin with a 90-minute consultation to explore your digestion, eating habits, daily rhythm, lifestyle and current challenges.
Together, we'll identify the patterns that may be contributing to your symptoms and agree on the first steps that are likely to make the biggest difference.
Weeks 2–6: Build supportive habits
Over the following weeks, we'll gradually refine your food, daily rhythm and routines, giving your body time to respond before making the next adjustment.
You'll have WhatsApp support between sessions, so questions can be answered as they arise and changes can be made in real life—not weeks later.
Weeks 7–8: Make it part of everyday life
As your symptoms begin to settle, we'll focus on strengthening the habits that work for you and preparing for life beyond the programme.
Together, we'll create a simple plan, so you know how to respond to changes, navigate busy periods and continue supporting your digestion with confidence.
Every journey is different. Here's how Gurjinder describes her experience:
Working with Katja has been such a gift.
What I appreciate most is that she doesn’t just teach Ayurveda—she helps you truly understand your own body. Rather than offering another quick fix or restrictive plan, she shares a way of living that feels sustainable, deeply nourishing and completely personalised.
I’ve realised this journey has never really been about weight. It’s been about creating clarity, reducing the noise, supporting my body in the way it needs, and building habits that honour my health for the long term.
Katja has an incredible ability to blend ancient wisdom with practical guidance that fits into everyday life. Her knowledge is vast, but she teaches with such warmth, patience and compassion that you feel supported every step of the way.
I’ve come away with so much more than nutritional advice. I’ve gained a deeper connection with my body, a greater understanding of what it needs, and a renewed sense of trust in myself.
If you’ve ever felt overwhelmed by conflicting health advice or are looking for a more holistic approach to your wellbeing, I wholeheartedly recommend working with Katja. It has been a truly transformative experience, and I’m so grateful our paths crossed.

These are the kinds of changes clients often notice:
-
From learning about the herbs and spices, bringing in new habits e.g., having ghee in the morning / drinking hot water, and adapting my breakfast, lunch, dinner to adapt to my Dosha it has changed so much for me. Joey
-
The small changes that you asked me to make that were doable and made a difference straight away like the morning routine of having ghee and warm water and keep having sips of warm water throughout the day. I can feel the difference the day I consume cold water over warm water. It's amazing to see what such a small change can do to your body. Shital
-
The lifestyle change was gradual and it has stuck. It is now a way of life. Rupee
This is a good fit if you:
want to feel lighter and steadier in your day-to-day life
would like to strengthen digestion and immunity in a sustainable way
are ready to improve your relationship with food and eating
value routine and gentle structure as a source of resilience
are willing to commit to small, supported changes over time
If you recognise yourself here, this work can support you.
Why this isn't another programme
Most digestive advice gives you a plan and hopes it works.
This process is different because we adapt it as your body responds. Some weeks you'll need reassurance. Some weeks we'll make small adjustments. Some weeks the most helpful thing is recognising that your body is beginning to settle. Rather than changing everything again, we'll give those changes time to work.
This isn't about trying to do everything perfectly. It's about making the right changes at the right time, with someone there to guide you along the way.
That kind of support simply can't be rushed.
The goal isn't just to improve your digestion over eight weeks. It's to help you leave knowing how to support your body for years to come.
You're not paying for another plan. You're paying for the guidance to understand your body well enough that you're no longer guessing what to do next.

You might be wondering…
Why is this an eight-week process?
Eight weeks allows enough time to introduce changes gradually, observe how your digestion responds, and adjust where needed. Digestive rhythm doesn’t change overnight — it settles through consistency, support, and time.
How is this work personalised?
We begin with an in-depth assessment looking at your digestion, daily rhythm, food habits, and current challenges. From there, guidance is tailored to you — no generic plans, no rigid rules.
What happens in the first week?
The first week focuses on understanding your current patterns and establishing a clear, supportive foundation. You’ll receive guidance on food, daily rhythm, and simple practices to support digestion from the start.
Will I be given a strict meal plan or restrictions?
No strict rules. Food guidance is personalised, flexible, and designed to fit into your life. The focus is on supporting digestion in a sustainable way, not on restriction.
How is progress supported throughout the eight weeks?
We meet weekly for short sessions to review how things are going and make adjustments as needed. You’re also encouraged to notice changes in digestion, energy, and appetite as habits begin to settle.
What happens after the eight weeks finish?
The goal of this process is to help you build a rhythm that feels sustainable and works within your real life. Many people feel ready to continue on their own at this stage, while others appreciate having a place for occasional reflection or recalibration as routines continue settling in. Ongoing WhatsApp and voice note support is available for questions, guidance, and support through busy periods or changes in routine.
What role do Ayurvedic herbs play?
Herbs are introduced only if needed, and always as support — never as a shortcut. The foundation of this work is food, rhythm, and lifestyle.
Will there be movement or Yoga involved?
Yes, gentle Yoga and breathing practices may be suggested to support digestion and calm the system. Everything is adapted to your ability and daily life.
How does this work alongside a busy schedule?
This process is designed for real life. Guidance focuses on simple, practical changes that can be integrated into an already full day — without adding pressure.
